CLASSIC GARDENS OF BRITTANY, NORMANDY & KENT - Friday 6th to Monday 23rd May 2016

Content Image InlineFRANCE & ENGLAND'S FINEST
Many of the best and most beautiful gardens in France and Britain are found on either side of the English Channel, where a temperate climate and chalky soil are responsible for the most spectacular flowers in both countries. This holiday is specially timed to see these gardens at their best, when the spring flowers are still abundant, but summer is a comin' in, with the sweet scent of roses filling the air. We visit both the famous and private gardens in both countries, as well as enjoying the two distinct cultures that are separated by just a few kilometres of water. A gardener's delight and with plenty of interest for the non-gardener as well, as we explore some of the prettiest villages in France & England, steeped in a thousand years of history.

Sea-faring and traditional agricultural practises still continue, and the Basque cuisine reflects this, with delicious and distinctive dishes prepared with the freshest of local ingredients. We will be exploring some of the prettiest villages on both sides of the border, as well as in the spectacular Pyrenees mountains, where Basque culinary traditions and culture are still flourishing. JAPANJAPAN IN AUTUMN IS A WONDERLAND OF COLOUR.

Fuji; the mountain forests in autumn colour; beautiful coasts and islands of the Inland Sea; and absorb an ancient culture in several historic towns.  We also have an extended stay in Kyoto, ancient capital and home to some of Japan's most treasured and beautiful gardens, traditional arts, cultural activities and authentic cuisine.
